Product Description
Thaapplication you downloaded is brilliant; superb; a life saver. You’re lost and your iPhone is the key to salvation. Except it’s raining so hard that it’s actually bouncing up and soaking you. You’re glad your phone is safe and sound inside a case because you can hardly make out the map for the splashing of the downpour, iPhones and rain don’t mix as well as you hope the drinks are at your journey’s end. You can make and take calls right through the case material. With most phones it makes no noticeable difference to the volume.
A fair number of GPS units are waterproofed these days, to an international standard called IPX7. This means they are designed to withstand temporary immersion. For example, an accidental dunk or splash in the lake. Aquapac cases are tested to the higher standard IPX8 which means they would protect your GPS even if for some reason it had to be submerged continuously.
In actual fact the Aquapac rating is IPX8. The '8' indicates that as well as being 100% waterproof the case is also 100% airtight and dustproof. Being airtight, the Aquapac will make your GPS buoyant. So if you drop it over the side, instead of it being lost to Davy Jones's Locker it'll stay floating safely on the surface, and you'll be able to retrieve it safely.
If you use any electronics in a marine environment, under continuous exposure to salt air, experience shows that even 'waterproof' equipment will eventually succumb to corrosion. Unless, that is, you invest in an Aquapac.
What size do I need?
The Mini case fits all Apple iPhone models, and most other small phones (incl. the BlackBerry Pearl, the HTC Desire, the Samsung Galaxy S, and the Motorola Droid). It'll also protect mini GPS units.
Larger phones (incl. the BlackBerry Bold 9000, the HTC Desire HD, the Motorola Droid X, and the Samsung Galaxy S2) will probably be too tight a squeeze, you'd need to step up one size to a small Whanganui 348
Key Features -
Everything works normally through the case including cameras and capacitive touchscreens
You can talk and hear without a problem
Also protects from dust, dirt and sand
Like most of our cases it'll float if you drop it in the drink
The seams are high-frequency welded to form a super-strong bond
The Aquaclip® (a patented, ultra-secure, rustproof, injection-moulded plastic seal) opens and closes with a simple twist of two levers, and everything stays in one piece even when open
Stickiness Warning!: Some phones can be quite sticky
Underwater photography warning!: Capacitive touchscreens don't work underwater, so you may find it difficult to take photos underwater. To take video underwater, simply start filming above the waterline
BlackBerry warning!: Your trackball may not work well through the case
Comes supplied with neckcord/lanyard
